I was so excited to get the call that Baby K was here! I love when I get to shoot a newborn when they are this fresh and moldable still! She is just perfect in every way. Congrats K and D on creating such a love!

My beautiful niece: senior portraits
Posted on August 1, 2011
If it seems like I have been totally missing from photography the past few months, it’s because I have! Since I have been expecting our second baby, I just haven’t had the energy to keep up and have enjoyed a break. But I really do miss regular shoots, and was thrilled to be able to shoot my niece Megan’s senior portraits last weekend when my whole family was in town from Upstate NY. I took her older sister’s pictures two summers back when I was pregnant with John Patrick. This time I was 9 months pregnant and we all managed to trek around Brookside gardens in the 100+ degree heat! She looks gorgeous even with all that humidity!

My little man
Posted on November 13, 2010
I just had to post a few pictures of my little man from a few weekends ago. He really does not enjoy having his picture taken, which is a total disappointment for me and forces me to get creative. This is often the case with toddlers, and makes location portraiture all the more perfect medium. Let him be him, playing around, without posing, and hope to get some candid shots that really reflect who he is at this age. I really loved these from Halloween in the leaves.

Mini Sessions Sneak Peak- The R Family!
Posted on November 9, 2010
I had the pleasure of photographing S and P’s wedding a few years back on a beautiful winter day. It was SO fun to see them again last weekend with their adorable toddler boy, T. This little guy is just handsome and classy as ever with his pinstriped suit! HIs eyes are so brilliant too! Being a typical toddler boy, smiling and paying attention to the camera were on the bottom of his to-do list, but I think we still captured some beautiful images of this age. Boy, sticks, cars, leaves. Need I say more?

He was not letting go of that lollipop!

I just loved his dress shoes and suit!!

Aren't T's eyes amazing?!!

Boys and leaves= happiness

I love little detail shots once in a while!

One more on the stairs.. I just loved the angle and profile shot!
Fall Mini Sessions- The M Family
Posted on November 7, 2010
I am so excited to present the first sneak preview of the Fall Holiday Mini Sessions we did yesterday at Glenview Mansion in Rockville, MD. The grounds are just perfect, and the lighting was even more cooperative yesterday. Cloudy sky + sun = perfection! Little R is one of John Patrick’s good friends, and it was so fun to take his portraits yesterday. He was full of personality and was so great at having a good time and smiling for me! I wish his buddy John Patrick would look at the camera like this! R has such a great smile, and mom and dad looked pretty fabulous themselves!

Waiting on a little Miss. Murphy to join the clan!

Isn't mom just stunning?
One more…

I love this family portrait, and I forgot to include it in the last set. I love portraits that capture a family’s interactions. This is the difference with an on-location lifestyle session and a traditional big-box portrait studio.

A beautiful autumn family session…
Posted on October 17, 2010
This was one of my favorite recent family sessions with little J at 6 months and his mom and dad. The drive out to their home in Virginia was just spectacular; as I drove and watched the light bounce off the yellowing leaves, I knew it was going to be a perfect day for a shoot. Sweet little J is at the perfect age for portraits- old enough to sit on his own, and not old enough to crawl away! My favorite stage to photograph! He was just as mellow and friendly as his mom and dad- a true reflection of their relaxed and inviting personalities. This session was made extra special by the presence of J’s grandparents, who are in town from Maine. After our formal family portraits, we took to the kitchen for some documentary photography of the family working together to prepare delicious homemade ravioli. I loved the framed photo of Bisnona, great-grandmother, with her ravioli, watching over 3 generations of her family gathered to prepare a favorite meal. I can honestly say these ravioli were AMAZING because sweet R sent me home with a batch to enjoy for dinner tonight with my family. I served mine with browned butter sage sauce, and John Patrick said “mmmmmmmm” when he tasted his first bite. So, was it the adorable baby, relaxed portraits, family fun, or FOOD that made this my favorite family session this season? All of the above. Thank you all so much for inviting me into your home to photograph a truly special family!

Isn't this a spectacular back yard? I am moving to the country!!

Is he precious or what?!

Part II to include pictures from the ravioli session!
Complementary mini session for one special family!
Posted on October 13, 2010
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to photograph a family that would not otherwise have the opportunity for professional portraits. Family portraits should be family heirlooms to be treasured for many generations. If you or someone you know would like to be considered for a complementary mini portrait session, please share my website on your Facebook page or blog, and email me a bit about why you are thankful for your family. All entries must be received by Wed. October 20 to be considered. Please spread the word!
30 minute mini session will be held on November 6th ONLY at the Glenview Mansion in Rockville, MD.
Please contact me for more details! Looking forward to hearing about all the wonderful families you know!
Ani
Posted on October 13, 2010
Dear little Ani is one of John Patrick’s best friends. They play together in our courtyard many days during the week. They mostly dig in the mulch together and make a mess in dirt. But the other day we got them all dressed up and took Ani to the Strathmore for a portrait session. I forget how beautiful the Strathmore is for portraits, and we live right next door! Ani is one stylin’ little lady, and I just love her tights and plaid mini skirt ensembles!

I love the wonder in her eyes here.

I know, another one of tights.. but I couldn't help it. I just love them with the brick and rusty stairs!

A plane flew by and she was really checking it out!

Catholic school girl?
